Re: Oh the FUN. Waiting for a tow...engine failure.
Yay! So what is your CR now? AA stuff is ok as long as you weigh it and balance the pistons out. That should be a nice engine in the 90hp if it's with those specs you list in your sig line.

CR is the same. Will have to BP the next set of AAs. As I am pleased with their product, and doing business with them.

Re: Oh the FUN. Waiting for a tow...engine failure.
BP is "Blue Print" I would guess. I balance every set of pistons as most times you can weight the wrist pins and pistons separately and then match them up to balance them so they weight the same.

Re: Oh the FUN. Waiting for a tow...engine failure.
Yes um,what Bsing said.
Writing BP, is that bad like OMG,FWIW,IMHO, "ur" etc..?
It just requires thought and contextual reflection, probably not a text speak coming to.a.town near you.
Blueprint, yes.
Further development ensures with about eight clicks to the richer side of the AFM(! )
So alls much better except for some spark scatter.
What's the best route to help a worn distributor? Philbin?
Points are out and pertonix is making sparks, but with more performance I notice ignition shortcomings more clearly.
Colin you and I heard that midrange rough spot. That was before new piston set and AFM enrichment.
It's still there,the rough spot,and I think worn distributor.
Better than ever, this bus is though, thanks for beating the Itinerant drum.

Spark scatter is not because of a worn distributor if you are using Pertronix.
Intermittent scatter is because of excessive end play. Consistent scatter is because the Pertronix magnets are not precisely located in the plastic donut on the breaker cam.
Place your timing gun inductance pickup on the center coil wire at idle. Do you see ghost images of timing marks? You should see only the timing notch #1/#3 mark and the 180* TDC mark for #2/#4 (if you have one). If you have ghost images, check timing mark position on #1 wire. Then put timing light pickup on #3 wire. Is the timing mark identically located against the scale? Check for your #2 versus #4 also. The Road Warrior used to have a ghost image of timing marks due to a craptastic Pertronix magnet piece.

Yep pertronix.
(Scraped off the last of the Electromotive crank trigger bits in the fall overhaul)
This stock distributor has bags of endplay. But not condemning with my limited experience with their axial or concentic tolerance.
Concentric tol (ok not a SParkScatter culprit with Pertronix) can be induced to a degree, and can also seem to be acceptable by field tweaking, with unit in hand.
Will try your test and report back.
