82 Vanagon Engine-to-Body Seal Question
I'm asking for a friend; is it difficult to install an engine-to-body seal on a Vanagon? Do you need to remove anything? My friend is buying a bus without a seal and the PO is telling him that installation is not as easy as it is in a Baywindow.

Re: 82 Vanagon Engine-to-Body Seal Question
It is a laborious task, but with a new seal, it shouldn't be too bad. It has a pinch groove that you want to attack straight in so it doesn't get opened up any more than it has to. I'd consider removing the engine carrier bolts from the body after getting a jack under the engine, and lower the engine an inch.BellePlaine wrote:I'm asking for a friend; is it difficult to install an engine-to-body seal on a Vanagon?
