[please note that there are many screws to find holding the upper cylinder covers (i.e. the tins where the spark plugs go), like the two nestled near the distributor. You do not have to remove every screw, just the ones that prevent you from lifting the tins up a couple of inches. You need to bring the left tin in from below, there is some finagling twisting that you will have to do, just please be more scientific than monkey chimp]

Excellent info! The spark plug location helps a great deal. I will look around and get a better idea/feel.

Some people will bend the heck of tin to make things fit.

it's a shame you can't use baby food jar lids like they do on the bugs, those always looked kinda neato.

As I look at the photographs and read through the posts, I fear the number of neophytes who carefully block off the exchangers and forget to block off the tins, or who block off the tins but forget to block off the exchangers below, so I push for an intact engine.
