A zillion bits and pieces is right Hammie....holy hex bolt. Speaking of I was thinking of using hex or allen bolts instead of the phillips head tin screws....easier to work with them when they get tight.

Stainless steel, phillips, filister head screws.Use anti seize and they will always come out. I did use allen head on the Type IV fan shroud. These should be available at your hardware store. If the h/w store doesn't have the quantity you need, go to a boat supply store such as West Marine.


Oh and have or buy the right size phillips screwdriver.

I've only had problems with tin screws on old mouldy rusty wrecks of engines from the pits of hell. At least the new slotted tin screws have those nifty self tapping ends.

I have used the factory sanctified cheesehead or phillips all of my life with no problem. I use anti-seize on the threads of every screw I put back on an engine.
