Brake Caliper Replacement - 77 Westy

Post by RussellK » Mon Jul 30, 2007 8:23 am

It looks like the bellows are shot (dried looking) on one of the calipers. Looking at rebuilts I see some say ATE. How do I tell if that is what I have? Also since I may as well do the pads at the same time. Any opinions on higher priced ceramic compared to lower priced standard pads?

If the pistons move freely and they don't leak the calipers you have are fine. The outer rubber seal you see is just a dust seal....
Take care,

I was blowing air through and forgot to open one of the bleeders which popped out the piston. Thats when I noticed how dried out the looked. Rebuild kit then?
