Spongy New Brakes
1975 VW BUS
All new brake hardware on every wheel. New brake switches.
Brakes occasionally feel "spongy" i.e. When stopping sometimes the pedal will feel firm, other times it goes halfway to floor. Also the brake warning light is on when no brake pressure applied...off when brake pressure applied.
Steps:
1. Reveled brakes front and rear.
2. Change brake switches
3. Make sure rear shoes adjusted correctly
4. Test vacuum booster
More to come.

Protocol in the Technical Forums is to please identify your model/year vehicle so we can hunt down wiring diagrams and whatnot.Curtp07 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 07, 2017 7:13 amAll new brake hardware on every wheel. New brake switches.

Re: Spongy New Brakes
bleed the brakes thoroughly. make sure the booster push rod is properly adjusted if you replaced the master. Follow Colin's steps also.
