Cross shaft installation

Post by spiffy » Fri May 23, 2008 8:43 pm

For 67 and earlier buses.

The wolfsburg west kit comes with the brass bushings which if you try to put them on the new cross shaft will not fit. If you have a dremel and the larger sand paper wheel it is the perfect size to reem the brass bushing, just take a couple of swipes on high RPM, clean it out, test fit and if needed take another pass with the wheel. Clean, lube, and install.

Only took me three tries to figure SOMETHING that worked :geek:

"Clean It Out" includes a scrubbing with dishwashing detergent and hot water, rinsed thoroughly, right? Dremels are sooooo handy.
