Carving Pumpkins

Post by DurocShark » Mon Oct 30, 2006 6:29 am

We did our pumpkins last night.

Me carving my daughter's while she supervises:

The results. My son designed and carved the one on the left, my daughter's on the right, and I'm the goofball in the middle:

I think he was going for a demon with the crown. Pretty good for coming up with it himself. =D>

That thar is some arty pumpkin carving.
I just got some pictures of my gf's sister's 15 mo. old kid up to her neck in pumpkin slime, looks like a horror movie. She was given the "scoop it out" task while her dad did the easy stuff.

If you are bold and a pyromaniac, try this:

Get a fairly tall, thin pumpkin
Carve it to look something like a kon-tiki god (whatever that is)
Leave the top off and keep the top rim kinda jagged looking
Soak a roll of toilet paper in kerosene overnight
Place said roll of toilet paper in pumpkin and light it
Enjoy raging fire-pumpkin for over an hour

I did this last year and had the town volunteer fire department watching my house for quite a while. Flames about a foot or so. It was raining, so no worries. Keep it away from your house or flammable bushes, of course. This certainly makes it hard for those pesky teenagers who like to go around an smash your jack-o-lantern. I have a picture that I will post later.

We carved one too, and roasted the seeds. The little one can't get enough of em'! They sure are cute when they're so excited about the small stuff.

How did you roast them? We boiled them in brine, then misted them with oil and sprinkled some more salt, then roasted.

Yummmmmy.

I take no responsibility for house fires, scared children, etc, if you use this idea. O:)

Happy Halloween. Tim
