Today I accompanied my son on his 4th grade class's field trip to a Pioneer Farm built in 1870.

The kids went through a variety of hands-on exhibits to gain some appreciation for how things were done back then. Here's my son learning to cut cedar shake:

Currently the surrouding acreage is used to grow HOPS! Acres and acres!

The weather and the company were perfect as we had lunch behind the farmhouse.

We had a very nice 2hr drive each way and the Bus seemed to have just as good a time as we did.
