looks great! It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Perhaps it would be useful to have a little sticky in each section outlining a bit more clearly what belongs in each section. Some of them are obvious (brakes, body/hardware) but as someone who doesn't always know what exactly things are or some of the finer points (like say the alternator... is that engine or electrical? or something else???) I know I may be in the minority, but I certainly can't be alone in my limited knowledge...

Your Home Base will be the vehicle forum that most closely approximates your particular Volkswagen. In the vehicle forum will be your compatriots and friends and fellow journeyers who share the day-to-day vagaries of life with bus or beetle or squareback or whatever. They can point you where to go on the site for technical assistance. They can either try to answer your questions right there or they can direct you to a specific topic. Not trying to be negative, but it's a bit overwhelming. Maybe it's just an adjustment, but instead of going to one place (baywindow or whatever), now there's live 10. I wonder if there shouldn't be a triage area, and then when there's some sort of resolution it get's moved off to brakes or engine or whatever.

As the site fills up with tech, the search function will probably work better. True. If I can limit my search to the brake section...yes, that would be helpful.
I still think one place for the hotshot AC troubleshooters to hang out would be nice. Maybe with more volume, it would be different...but still whose going to hang out in "trans / axles".
If we picture ourselves as healthcare for the ac vw's then shouldn't we model ourselves off of the medical profession. We admit you, diagnose your problem and then move you off to the specialist...
