A New Toy (Boat)

Something new to learn... I've never had a "motor" boat and didn't grow up around them either. Came with a 1974 Johnson 9.9hp (with points and condenser, gasp!). Kids are excited, looking forward to getting out on the water with some more space (we've always had a canoe). Outboard fired up in a garbage can of water but I think it needs a new water pump impeller...

Do you see the kids on board? You know what’s missing?
Life preservers.
Train them early that you don’t get on a boat without a life preserver. We start ours at the boat ramp.
