Wait until he asks to go 'talk' to his girl friend in the bus. My step daughter was in 8th grade when her boy friend was over. The bus was parked in the street at the time. She asked if the two of them could sit inside and talk. I said fine, but leave the sliding door open. I waited about 5 minutes and looked over at the bus - the door was open; a whole 6 inches. Strode over, opened up the door so it latched in the open position and said, "No, I meant WIDE open!" :cherry:

After he left about an hour later, she came up to me and said "You have awful timing, I was just about to get my first kiss!" I said, "Yup, parents do have perfect timing like that." :pirate:

Don't get me wrong, she really is a good kid...95% of the time :flower: She's 16 now.

He has invited a girl he likes to his party tomorrow. I know all about it but I'm sworn to secrecy. It will interesting to meet her--the first girl to steal my boy's heart. So far I know she's pretty funny and I like that

Oh boy. It's started already.... I thought at age 11 girls still had cooties? Here's a hint...keep them so dang busy through high school that they don't have time to date .... better yet, get them involved in an activity that keeps them occupied all Saturday until 9p at night... that seems to work. ;)

That's the case with my daughter. Too busy with school and sports to even think about boys.

I didn't get to invite the girl I liked to my 11th birthday party . . . . but we're still friends.

Emmett used to hug me and say, "You're my girl."
