1960s-70s Chevys with <10 miles going on auction

Post by whc03grady » Thu Jun 27, 2013 7:45 am

I'm not a Chevy guy (I prefer my 'merican ir'n blue), but there're some really nice, insanely low-mile cars and trucks here:

Ludwig--1974 Westfalia, 2.0L (GD035193), Solex 34PDSIT-2/3 carburetors.
Gertie--1971 Squareback, 1600cc with Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection from a '72 (E brain).

A moment where I suddenly wish I was not so cash-poor.
If there was a '65 Corvair there, I would jump so fast.

Yeah, but a '64 Corvair with 14 miles? A '60 with 1 mile??

It's an excellent reminder of the vast panoply of human possibility. I often wonder, when I see a rare old manuscript found, what other old books remain hidden in some old library, mis-catalogued and forgotten. True barn finds are rare, but they exist. In or more local terms, I always wonder what VW gems are hidden in garages and storage units held by the elderly wealthy in Newport Beach and surrounding environs.

There is a 64 Corvair Van in there too. Would be interesting.
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
