1,975 miles later

Post by poptop tom » Wed Apr 24, 2013 7:07 am

Just wanted to boast a moment about the bus making its spring appearance with a roadtrip to
northern Florida last week!
We went down to Spirit of Suwanee Music Park, in Live Oak, for Wanee. It's the Allman Bros. festival. Had a great time! Joined up with old friends that now reside in Jacksonville, and visited with family in the Atlanta area on the way down. Very nice trip!

With myself, my girlfriend, and a loaded down bus, we went 1,975 total miles, and averaged around 17.4 mpg. Drove 65 to 70 most of the way. No issues whatsoever. Used under a quart of oil.

Of course, my camera crapped out, so all my pictures taken were with my smart phone. And I'm not tech savvy enough to get them onto my computer, sized properly, and posted up on here. :pale:

Anyway, just had to share how proud I was of Ophelia!

Congrats Tom! For a while there, it seemed as though your engine would never get built. Nice to see it doing so well.

I'm with Sped - POST YOUR PICS! If you can rebuild your own engine, you can figure it out!

Holy cats, Tom. From the title of this thread I thought that you were going to tell us that your engine blew up! I'm glad that you are going to Florida. That's much better!
