It helps too that I'm not treating the van as bad luck. I am seriously thinking of saving it, as I would be very sad to see it go.

Best news I've heard all day. I'd love to help push out some of those dents.

I hate to ask, but have you tried to start it? I bet she starts right up.

Ehhhh, not yet, there has been a bit of internal stuff too as the engine popped off of it's mounts. A new fan is also needed as one of the blades got bent.

Straighten the fan, check the oil level, pull the plugs, crank it to clear any oil/gas/coolant that might've gotten into the cylinders from laying on it's side all night. Betcha the engine'll fire right up.

I would personally be hesitant to use the van as anything other than a parts donor, but I'm willing to withhold judgement until I see the damage with my own eyes...

I don't think that would happen...There's usually no gravel on a bridge. :joker:

Easily my friend. I actually saw you pass by me, we (dad and I) were sitting in a Subaru, waiting for a tow truck. :)
Ah ha! I actually remember that subaru.

Glad others were more observant than I was!

GET! THE! HIGH! TOP!!

It isn't *that* much money and once you've gone high-top you'll never go back. Of course they probably come apart when rolling down a hill.

It's too much for someone who has no income ATM. As far as the HT... I dunno, it's just, eh?

Glad you're OK, Xelmon, let's do a gravel road practicum next time I am in town.

Is this Chevy the one I met at the Lucky Lab with that amazing . . . electric recliner feature?

I'll take you up on that fer sure! Hopefully I'll be in town.

And yes... It is that very van. :(

As an addition, the Chevy is still a bit uncovered, and Tris is under the same opinion post inspection; It's teetering on the line of save it and salvage it, leaning towards the salvage end of things.

Mentally I am doing much better, basically cleared up. It wasn't until Wednesday/Thursday that I didn't feel dread about the whole situation.

Damn Xelmon! You have some seriously bad luck on gravel! And both instances you weren't
even driving a bus!
Maybe that is a sign from VW Bus God's.......

Glad you are ok. Looked like quite a frightening adventure.

Thank you. :)
As I've said many time by now, "10 seconds of terror" is the only way to sum it up.
