If I ever get to Georgia I want to check this place out. I could spend a whole day there.

i really liked the 'Spatz'......and now i know why...Ledwinka..one of the godfathers of aircooled

Frederick asked the then 77-year-old Hans Ledwinka, the former Tatra engineer, to design a robust chassis for the car. The result was a central tube frame and four wheels –

that place in Georgia looks pretty cool !!

Fun dingo, picture #5 indeed a gloomy ghia. And #6 of the badge, loved the two screw styles holding it down. And is that a painting of a vw bus on the wall in #11?

And Georgia, yikes, a person could get lost even on that website!

50 miles from my house. Did not know it existed.
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Ah but take heed, I was going to plan a trip there but the website says they are closed for renovations until Summer 2012. Have you been to the car museum at Stone Mountain?

I've been to the Stone Mountain museum and thought it was worth it. I'd never heard of this Micro Car Museum but it sure looks cool. About a 10 hour drive. Maybe a four day weekend kind of trip?

The museum here in Madison GA has typically only been open on Tuesdays. If you have a large enough group, they will open for you. Maybe after the renovations they will be open more. The museum is owned by the guy who owns Double Bubble bubble gum. When my father-in-law, wife, and son visited they came home with a big tub of gum. They guy who gives the tours is also the main restorer of the cars. It is a cool place to spend an afternoon.

This NSU is sort of a step-sibling to our VW's. Rear-engine, air-cooled .. and NSU was bought by Volkswagen in '69 and merged with Auto Union (Audi).

I saw mention of Lloyd but no pictures. There's one sitting in a lot here in Portland right now, might be for sale. This isn't it in the picture, but it's in about the same shape .. if anyone's looking for a project.

Went to tellus museum up in cartersville this weekend with the kids.
The largest mineral/rock collection I have ever seen. Seriously impressive.
As well as 7 or 8 early motorcars and a nice indian.

A Benz Motorwagen, now that is a name of a car we need today! Introducing the 2012 car of the year, the Mercedes Benz Motorwagen!
