It's a taste quieter I guess, especially at speed. I had hopes that it would be a significant difference. Let me adjust the valves and get back to you. They sound loose.
Check for an exhaust leak with a cool engine using a wet terrycloth hand towel whipped around around each flange before they get too hot. If you hear ticking only under load, it is an exhaust leak, not valves.

Tell me there's a support for that pipe beyond just the flange connection.

The heater boxes are supported very well to the fan housing. And then the muffler is supported with a strap to the crossover pipe at the connection to the heater box.
