OK,

I've been trying to find this on my own but...
How many gallons of gas does a 1977 VW bus gas tank hold?

thanks.

Awesome! That means Miss Zora is now getting about 18-19 miles/gallon vs. 11!!!!

Woo hoo! FWIW, that's about what my '78 Riviera gets as well.

Just wondering, how are you calculating it?

Filled tank > drove 266 miles > then I ran out of gas today on the way to the gas station. :-)

BTW - I found out that Miss Zora is also a Riviera.

I've used that method too, but I can't recommend it for long-term mileage mapping.

Glad she's running better! Colin is truly amazing, huh?

I used the same method to calculate mileage when I was getting 11 mpg so at least it is comparing apples to apples.

And yes - Colin is amazing. I hope he makes at least one more go around next year.

I also think Miss Zora is amazing considering the shape she was in one month ago.

Hey Paige, is Miss Zora still fuel injected? I can't remember. If so, be very careful to not run out of gas as that makes the electronic fuel pump run dry and overheat. Sometimes all it takes is one time of running dry to burn up the pump.

Yep, fuel injected - no worries on running out of gas. That won't be happening any time soon EVER AGAIN! She is running smoothly with a FULL tank of gas and will probably never go below 1/2 again.

Heard Marc made an appearance last night to the Lab - dang! I hate working nights.

Running out of gas is also a good way to pull the rust down to the spigot and get yourself a clogged fuel line. Zora likes to live dangerously. :cherry:

Miss Zora's tank is rust free. I just took it out and cleaned it up all nice and purdy while the engine was out (the first time).

However, Miss Zora is a bit more frisky now. :cyclopsani:
