That could be an excellent candidate for a top-drawer restoration. All of those nice mechnical parts just waiting to get out in the day. But why oh why do the engine and trunk seals have to be ripped up and the bumper all dented in?

okay, not the correct year for the Road Warrior, but it's the correct color and it has a sun roof! :)

Kinda like my Doka, not too much rust for a Canadian vehicle..
Oh boy, can't see our hero in something THAT rusty, but I agree the
sunroof is cool!

There has been an insane drop in personal standards of vehicle sale hygiene, coupled with an insane increase in asking prices. Self-esteem generation runamok? "Hey man, I got all the beer cans out."

I personally could never put my name to 80% of the VWs listed on the classifieds just because they are so filthy and ragged. To then think that these sellers are going to blow smoke up our asses with "original! great condition!" when the kick panels are caved in and the headliner is destroyed . . . it is irritating as hell. It would be a profound embarrassment for me to show the car disagreeing with my own bullshit in the ad copy.

Just good ol' personal standards of presentability, folks. Sweep the damn thing out and wash the windows.

^Amen!

I see way too many ads for vehicles priced at the upper limit with caveats like, "needs new head gaskets, the gaskets can be found online for $12.99, just haven't gotten around to fixing" or, "the floors are rusted through, but it never bothered me so you should pay top dollar".

That's a tough-looking ride, but check the front suspension. If they just cranked the trailing arms on the torsion bars, that thing is riding on the jounce stops.

1980 Westy. Good potential, but may have issues getting it registered. Wish I had room/time/wifelytolerance for it.
