To answer IFB-Joseph had an extra engine stand a few months back and I was hopin' to take him up on his generous offer to let me take it home. I am considerin' a top and bottom rebuild over the winter if I can avoid preparing for the next camping trip (you know the one that keeps popping up (i.e. all of them...):geek:
Bob is absolutely correct in his assessment. after a weekend of knocking on deaths door while moving my mother's belongings to my house and a day of working, I am wiped. I wanted to meet Chachi and see Neal's new baby but I have to take a pass on the Lab again this week.
Where you off to Jasan? the '78 with a leaky VCG!!! Say it aint so...
Oil on all that nice clean engine bay. Now you'll just have to bump up that swap out, I want to see a PICKLE/'78 drag...

So it all started when I wanted to get better gas mileage....

Drat......dreaming of the Lab....hafta get up at 4:30 tomorrow to go on a 28 mile gravel road school bus route (egad). Am learning how to drive an 84 passenger school bus (40 ft long) and get my CDL (passed my 4 endorsements with flying colors).
Have a beer for me.

Yep, off to hunt on Friday morning for five days. Six hour drive each way. Back next Wednesday to pull the engine and get the new one in. Gotta make those end of October camp outs.
No oil in the engine bay. Made a mess of the left side of the lower engine though. All clean and dry now. Looks like I have some leaky push rod tube seals on the right. Oh well, only one more trip on this engine anyway.

Have a good one Jasan... come back to us in one piece... and one peace.
The best navigators aren't sure where they're going until they get there. And then they're still not sure.

If you can wait until November-ish, I have a bench-mount stand you're welcome to borrow. I should hopefully be done with it at that point...Gypsie wrote:To answer IFB-Joseph had an extra engine stand a few months back and I was hopin' to take him up on his generous offer to let me take it home.
