If any would have jumped out at me I'd have had to run in the house and put on a clean pair of shorts that's for sure. The tank is probably still useable but the little nipples on the bottom are all rotted off. They could be replaced if someone was adventurous enough to do it. I'm having a big enough adventure with the rest of the bus to mess with it. There was no gas in it but there is some rust. You hit the top then look inside the filler tube and you can see a rust cloud in there. My blue ones tank is in really good shape so I'll be using it instead.

Well I got my mouse nest problem taken care of. I pulled the nest out and got all the turds and stuff swept up. I then used warm water and dumped in a 1/2 a bottle of bleach cleaner and scrubbed everything down with a scrub brush and rags. It still stinks alittle but not as bad as it did. Hopefully it will air out and be ok. I didn't get to upload the pics before I came to work but I'll post them when I get home tonight.

I found some rust dissolver stuff I'm going to try in here. I plan to wire wheel it first then use the rust dissolver stuff.I have a few rust spots I have to weld up though. I'll post pics when I start again. It's supposed to rain here for a while so it's on hold for now. :bounce:

Ya it was pretty bad. The whole area there was packed full of insulation. It is funny cause they took all the insulation out of the middle above the engine bay but never touched the 2 end pieces. Didn't even chew on the bags. It is wierd. I'll take a pic of them when I get a chance.

I've been working 13hrs. every other day since Sat so I haven't been able to do anything to the bus lately. I did however go and price out the Mexico Beige for the repaint of the newly welded on metal and touchups. It is going to be $132 and some change for everything I need to paint it. I'm going to pick it up on Fri. after work. I hope it's nice this weekend so I can atleast get the frontend primed and painted. I need to get the windshield put in before winter hits. It's coming back fast. I'll post pics when I start on it. :king:

I decided to pull the luggage rack off this morning and see what kinda mess I had under there. Here are the pics.

Luggage rack off.

As you can see there was some yummy stuff stuck under there but there was no rust under the rack at all thank goodness. :) There is ome in the drip rails though but it is nothing serious.

There are some cracks in the back of the ribs on the rack. Is this normal? They are not the whole way through but I plan to fix them.

Here is the top all cleaned up.

I'm going to have to paint the top cause it isn't coming clean plus once I fix the cracks it'll need painted. That'll come later.

More to come.

Keep up the good work! I admire your energy and commitment. It will be well worth it and what a story you'll have to tell. Talk about bringing one "back from the abyss!"

Ya it's quite the adventure that's for sure. I picked up my Mexico Beige paint today. =D> Look for the nose to be painted soon. I need to get the windshield back in so I can do the wiring and get the dash put in. Thanks for the kind words also. They are what keep me motivated.

I painted the outside of the luggage rack today. I have to fix the cracks in the inside before I paint it. Here's a pic.

I hope to get it done this week then I'm going to paint the front.
