Rubber boot alternatives

Post by RussellK » Wed Aug 30, 2006 10:10 am

I'm looking for suggestions on what to use to minimize the opening in the floor the throttle travels through. It looks like the boot for my year "77 is NLA.

In the old old days, there was a throttle link boot. Later buses do not even bother with such things. There is a belly pan under the car that is supposed to prevent any splash from ever coming up that hole.
If you are compulsive like me, you get some self-adhesive foam, punch a hole through it for the link, and glue it to the underside of the floor pan at the accelerator link's hole. Careful that pedal consistently returns properly.

So its not really NLA, it never existed? That being the case I'll just move on to the next issue.
