removing fan shroud type 4

i feel like a dumb ass, but do you really have to pull heat exchangers to get the fan shroud off? seems like i've been able do it without pulling them before but i just cannot get it to clear those bottom studs.

You don't. I know this because I've taken the fan shroud off without removing the HXes, and if my wife and I can do it, anyone can do it. I thought I had more enlightening pictures of the situation but don't. Sorry.

yeah those seats on the exchangers the housing sits in seem bent. just like everything in life, i just have to push harder.

How weird I also disassembled an engine today, a type1 that was ruined and filled with water. STILL had water in it from 5 years ago! Everything looks ok besides the lifters and pistons.

fun! i have been slowly dissasembling and cleaning this one, but this shroud has had me stopped for a couple days. i did get far enough to find the GEX stamps. pray for me.

All in boxes now, disassembled to make it easier to move. You still goin to Badger Ck?
