Not that part I don't .. I've only got one and it's on my Bus.

But they're not hard to come by new, check Always or Halsey. .. you know they were all dealer-installed, right?

Really? I didn't know that. The dealer drilled the holes too? That may explain why they're not parallel with the lid.

Get a nice soft 1" X 1/8" X 24" strip of ductile aluminum.

Dog leg it twice

Yeah that's what I was thinking, or brass. But I have rigged sooooo much already....today bailing wire to barrel nut on heater box. Works though. But for how long?!?!

I'm going on three years. I even pulled the engine without disconnecting them once, and the bailing wire unrolled itself and disconnected nicely. :blackeye:

How about how many cotter pin/heat flapper/bowdin extensions have there been..that cotterpin should have a vw pn..(yes it does I think for crenelated hub nuts)
