Sorry to here about the damage,
I hope you can fix it soon and hit the road for the 200K miles you mentioned.
Also I would like to offer a place to stay just above Tampa on your way to Jivermo's if you take i-75
Jeff
Thanks Jeff, I'm looking forward to Key West especially since its supposed to be a one helluva winter up here

anyone going south is welcome to stop at my place, got 7 acres and a clean garage if it's Colin too!
(well kind of clean anyway) Colin, I just got back from Germany and scored a Doka sliding window from
a junkyard and REALLY want to put it in but I do not want to attempt it alone due to the rarity of it.
No pressure BTW..

Report indicates a wheel base difference of .02" and a track difference of 1.1"
The machine did not give us an actual measurement so we pulled a tape and it measure 94.5" on the PS and 94.75 on the DS
I also pulled a tape across the rims - Outside to outside.

Did you rotate the wheels 180* between readings to cancel out effects of wheel runout?
When I get a legible blow-up-able alignment report, I will report to you.
Do you like the alignment guy?

He roated the wheels when setting everything up. He'd got to a wheel, push a button and then it would start to beep. That is when he'd rotate the wheel 180 degrees and then it would stop, move onto the next and do the same thing. Afer all 4 were done, he went to the alignment machine and began looking at the numbers.

It is the seldom seen sliding window you could order as an option for the rear "crew cab"
non rolling "fully fixed" window panels.
apparently if you sat in the back of one of these VW work trucks in the 80's you were below the
pay scale of access to moving air, I have been looking for one for the side my son sits on
and finally found on in a German junkyard on my recent visit. You should have seen me
passing through customs with all the crazy parts I had in my luggage, it was quite a sight!

Totally. I look forward to driving his fleet . . . and inspiring him to bring them all up to BobD standards.
My engine sure is looking forward to new bearings . . . .

That means I need to drive her and I won't get a chance to do that now due to work. Next week she goes onto the trailer and hauled off to the body restoration and repair shop. Next time I see her, she is going to be beautiful. =D>
