All in all, we load with great conversation and Jeff tells me about the bug he "used" to have, and I thank him with a crisp 100 bill tip for breaking his schedule to load me with 4 hours notice. He thanks me and says "see you in Florida!"
we load the Sinka without incident and take a few pics...

It's a newer type of lift that Jeff told me he can raise my VW up and pull in cars to the middle and then lower it back into place,
saves moving the end car off and on alot and that's fine by me!

I jump back in the 12.00 rental car to put down the 300+ miles back to vegas
to get some rest before I have to work 3 days straight selling commercial audio gear..

Along the way I look at the sights from the rental car's window as the sun sets through the beach, mountains and then desert and I am reminded how much I already miss my wife back home.... :pirate:

All in all it was a great day all 15 hours of it! I turn in the trusty rental steed :pukeright: and fall into a sleep dreaming of diesel VW trucks.... :drunken:

pretty cool buy! There is a double cabin in Suriname I just couldn't pull the trigger on buying as it was just too slow with the diesel engine. Have you thought about installing a later TDI engine so it has 100+hp and can drive a little faster?

I know this may sound crazy but I really like the slow 1.6NA, it really helps me relax and slow down from the hectic work schedule I keep.
It's really kind of like a form of therapy or something when I get behind the wheel of any of my VW diesels to run errands or take the family on outings.
Also just to be sure I wasn't totally nuts I did install a 1.9TD in the Double cab last year I sourced from Canada so it has that "missing power" everyone says I should have in the others but I find myself not really using it or pushing the turbo in it cause it's better for me to slow down and enjoy the ride.
We are moving to more rural property next month and this truck will earn it's keep running errands as we improve the place.

Same thing with the GMC.

OOH I have been looking at crazy setups such as a triple Weber DCOE to get some oomf and be able to go 70.

OTOH, there is a certain charming pace to the GMC these days. Especially that the speedo doesn't work, it gives it a very quaint "Enjoying the ride" feel to it.

Took the words right out of my mouth Xelmon!
Going fast is what the wife's jetta sport wagon TDI is for!
Not these rides... What was that tourist licence plate I used to see? 55 arrive alive?

you can really see the extra height of the tilt in this pic and it's as if the the westy in traffic is saying " don't worry you will fit"
