Being Towed

Post by Taipan » Wed Nov 06, 2013 1:45 pm

Hi from England!
I'm taking delivery of a 1973 Westy, ex California 1700 with an auto box. If I need to have the vehicle towed at any time (not a good idea with the auto box), where would I attach the tow rope to the front of the bus?
I've checked out Bentley and Haynes, also the search facility on this excellent forum but can find no information. Can anyone enlighten me?

Hi and welcome!

There should be a tow hook or eye under the front bumper. It's really not meant for long distance towing, use a flatbed for that.

Check page 40 of the owners manual in the link below.

Hi, and thank you for the greeting and reply to my question. Also, many thanks for the pointer to the owners manual; very informative.
