Wow Mike, good stuff, nice attack plan - rust in all the usual places. Be certain to check along the bottom of the rocker panels and clear the drain holes of dirt, debris and rust. Also, that small round hole, which exits water at the bottom of each 'B' pillar (I could have the wrong pillar name here, hold on, I'll be corrected shortly!).
Good job.

I hope you moved the sink/stove/fridge the same way? I know I would. No use having a fork lift and not using it.

Before I started the body work I drove over to a company called Auto Trim Design in Portland, Or. They were able to match the 3 colors very close and can make me up a stripe kit. I think the quote was around $300 installed. I don't have the information with me.

Stripes - thanks, those are the stuff! I'm thinking about pulling some colors together and those stripes look like a very valid option. 3, big, installed? I say go for it - you will love that every time you turn and look.

I'll try this post again.
So the engine is out and while the bus is in the body shop I will start cleaning and inspecting the engine.

windows

Post by Mike Boell » Thu Apr 08, 2010 11:19 am

While the bus is in the shop I have taken in the glass for a real light tint. I ordered the rubber kit for the louvered side windows from OE VEE Dub and have sent the window frames into an aluminum outfit to be cleaned.
The glass is ready for pick-up today but the frames are not.

YES  This is going to be great - I'll be watching this thread. Is willy doing your poptop too? He did a great job on mine.

Glad to see you jumping into this -- Jalousies and everything. Awesome.

Willy is doing the poptop! I removed it at the house to clean ahead of time and give him more room in his shop to work with out it being in the way. When the bus is done I will take the fiberglass out for his magic.

I had the aluminum jalousies window frames cleaned this week. I'm on my way to Willy's this morning around 11:00 to pick them up and reassemble everything.

I will get some picks of the windows as I put them together.

Working on a BIG order to place with OE Vee Dub Monday. Just tipped the total to $1001.18
