Sorry I implied anything inappropriate. I read through the thread Meyer posted and the car appears to be the real deal. Now all that remains is why is he selling it so soon? Of course, with the economy the way it is, a lot of people are off-loading non-critical items to make ends meet. It's funny, the TS thread even brings up the issue of people who are trying to sell something, but don't make themselves available. People are funny.

I shouldn't jump to conclusions. My apologies.

Not a problem!

And scratch my thoughts on T3s being the next to jump. I posted the question over on TS and conventional wisdom seems to be saying that it ain't gonna happen.

While I'm flattered to be mentioned in the same "breath" as Trammy, it just ain't so. I'm nowhere near the Zen Master Of Volkswagen status that he, Colin or others have attained...

Not worried about t3s jumping in value. I am interested in driving, not investing... And we all know that the money we put into these things never really comes back :drunken:

Hiya Manfred,

Yep, that money is as good as gone. These VWs are the proverbial money pit.

You just might as well bundle up your bucks and send 'em to me. Which is not all that bad an idea now that I think of it.

Oh I figured. I was being sarcastic. It's all about the love. Every dollar I spend makes me happier. When can you say that in life.

What's your address? I'll stop by and we can discuss your logic over a 12 pack.

Oh stop it, y'all. My Squareback has set me back less than $300.00 total over the past 12,000 miles for maintenance and repairs. The Road Warrior annual maintenance/repair costs have averaged far less than one lousy new car payment per year. Of course, my engine is now due for three lousy new car payments of work . . . :blackeye:

Hiya Colin,

Oh get outta the sun and cool down.

Humor. You know the word, I've seen you laugh. It was all in fun.

Although.......................

I'd be willing to bet that there are citizens in the third world who could meet their daily needs over the course of a year on what we typically spend on our Busses in the same period.

All the money I've spent would have gone to car payments a lame plastic box on wheels.

Now my going to a bread box on wheels that is super fun to drive, makes adults smile, and little kids point and wave.

It woud be interesting, in that sad guilt ridden sort of way, to see how far a lucky lab gathering's total beer/grub bill would go in sustaining a family in one of them there third world places...

Gads, I need a beer now.....
