That is how I make them but for convertibles (not much demand) you can use a hole saw to drill some larger holes away from the deck lid grilles for the air to come in.....
The only draw back is if you have large dual carbs then the linkage will slightly hang up on the liner......but it is easy to clearance that on the liner.

One internal rain tray secured. Cost to you is $10 This unit will require hosing but it does include the all-important (take my word for this) rubber grommets for hose attachment. Pretty nice piece actually. A coat of paint and it will look brand new.
