Does anyone in here own a bug

Post by 71_transporter » Mon Oct 02, 2006 5:13 pm

Hello everyone. Dont see much action on the bug forum huh.
I have a 71 super beetle that the P.O. decided would be fun to cut into a baja. So i am in the process of turning it back into a regular bug.
here is a picture of the beast...

Welcome to the forum! While I don't own a Beetle myself it's good to see this place expanding a bit. What do you have against Baja Bugs? I've always like them, myself.

Here's my '71 SB Convertible, along with the New Beetle Convertible that VWoA was nice enough to let me test drive for a week a couple of years ago.

Yep, own a '71 beetle that is now my daily driver, and I have a '74 beetle that is a long term project, but will one day be road worthy again.

Hey fellas, first post here. I have a 62 beetle. Although, 71 beetles are not regularly turned into bajas, you have your work cut out in making it back to stock. In 71, they still offered a regular (non-super) beetle, with a front beam vs. McPhearson struts. I can't imagine actually running that thing on the highway after doing some off roading. The "super shimmies" may come sooner than later. Well, good luck.
