We do not add up our labor hours, do we? Of course not. You can't put a price on love . . .

Do it the best you can...but once you see that craft then you can't stop yourself.
It is amazing that "basket case" '60s VWs are still out there.

You gonna spray it yourself this time or farm it out like you did the Squareback?

I am seriously considering it. Why not? I do need better lighting in there, it's still like a cave. Those Harbor Freight worklights would do.

More light is always good, let me know if you could use some help with that .. think we've got a couple 8' florescent fixtures at the MLK store we're not going to use and I can see about prying 'em loose. Same lights we've got up on the ceiling of the store.

If you decide to paint the Beetle and it comes out well enough you might have a side-career painting stuff...

You gonna straighten out that lower valence on the front? It looks warpity a smidge.
Colin . . . because it matters

(that rear shot of the bug with no rear fenders brings me back to its very beginnings, it just shows the heritage of this amazing design)

Bug is done and ready for paint, rolled her out of the garage for the first time yesterday. Today is the day to buy paint, but I'm still deciding if I should paint this thing....I'm getting a bit overwhelmed taking on so many new things. Every damned VW project I take on makes me feel like I'm 4 years old.
Maybe I'm just tired of working alone so much. Maybe the only person you can really depend on is yourself anyway. Does it all come out OK after the wash?

A big box of L10B Texas Yeller and all the fixins' are now waiting in the garage...
The guy at the paint store was really helpful. I'm just going to pour it on like the Sherwin Williams logo.
