Eugene run

Post by ruckman101 » Thu Feb 28, 2013 11:27 pm

Running to Eugene to vid bits of this event.

on march 2, at the annual public interest environmental law conference in eugene at UO:
The Community Rights movement will be presenting three back-to-back sessions at the annual Public Interest Environmental Law Conference (PIELC.org) on Saturday, March 2 at the U of Oregon. Executive Director Thomas Linzey of CELDF.org will give a keynote speech at approx 1pm, immediately followed by a breakout session with Thomas Linzey and Kai Huschke 230-345pm, immediately followed by a Panel of Community Rights organizers from four local campaigns - Spokane and Bellingham, WA, and Portland and Benton County, Oregon 4-545pm.

Hoping to harass LiveonJG that evening. We can take another couple of folks willing to help lug gear and endure some politics. Or just to come along on the ride and harass LiveonJG, and you never know, DJeep and Skin Daddio.

Alas no crew, but a marvelous wind down from a day of politics around the fire at Skin Daddio's, DJeep in attendance. Missed LiveonJG. Looks like we'll be heading back down in April for the Marathon. Cheryle's daughter will be running the Half Marathon this year for the third time. She placed in single digits across the board last year.

Here's the info.

Ok, I lied. I just looked it up on the website and she placed first in her age group, fifth of women, and 34th overall last year. I am unable to do anything but believe she will do better this year.

awaiting the easterlink-ruckman video from elaw weekend.

Dear [g'may skin daddio],

Thank you for contacting my office about the proposed rule change regarding canola production in the Willamette Valley.

The Willamette Valley is an important part of Oregon’s ecosystem and economy, and any potential threats should be carefully considered.

The proposed rule change regarding the use of genetically modified canola seeds is one I take seriously. With inadequate control measures, the consequences to Oregon’s seed crop industry could be devastating. The issue is complex, but it is essential we protect Oregon’s long-term interests over any short-term economic gains offered by the proposed rule change. For this reason, I am cosponsoring HB 2427 to put that ban in place.

Thank you for your interest in this important matter and feel free to contact my office if you have further questions or concerns.

Eh, takes time. Data crunching conversions and transfers. The SD version is up, but the HD version is still chewing on ones and zeros.
