I am casting about for an entry point to do battle against the corporate plutocracy. I cannot idly stand by and watch this country get subsumed by self-annointed aristocrats.

Why thank you.Bleyseng wrote:Every Bay Bus you keep running is a mote in their eye, Colin. Stay the course!
I have had some rich interactions with potential voters down south here. A very careful Socratic dialogue with some of the good ol' boys, like the parts counter guy at NAPA who showed me a "Obama Can Kiss My Ass" billboard photograph, has yielded at least some thoughtfulness. I have also had some revival meetings at Motel 6, "you gonna vote?" "of course I'm gonna vote!"

Re: Bill Moyers - Inequality, the Plutocracy, Romney, Obama
I finally caught up with that show last night. As usual, Moyers gave us what we needed to hear, from people who knew what they were talking about. Ms. Freeland's comments about "entitlement" were particularly apt.denjohn wrote:Bill Moyers, Matt Taibbi, and Chrystia Freeland, three good, informed minds discuss Inequality, the Plutocracy, the audacity of Romney, the failure of Obama, and a captured Government:

Not long ago, I re-read Kurt Vonnegut's novel Galapagos. He made an interesting comment about the human animal ... that as long as its belly is full, it thinks everything is copacetic, even if the world is falling apart around it. Not many of the 1% have ever had a day where their bellies weren't full.
