I have a tremendous amount of guilt for not making an extra effort to contact my friend during the last couple months.
Maybe I could have changed the way things ended.
For the last two months, I have been fantasying about hanging myself.

This may explain why you are emmeshed in his personal choice.

But his personal choice was his and his alone to make, it was none of your business in his final moment.
Free Will is an amazing thing. You bear witness to it.

Did all of this change your notions of suicide as any sort of solution?
