The rest of the story

http://www.democracynow.org/2011/11/21/ ... pper_spray

Listen closely at the 51st minute, the student states how they had the cops surrounded and if they wanted to leave they'd have to go through them.

So I guess the devils' choice for the cops at that point is:
1. Whip out the nightsticks and clear a path,or
2. Whip out the pepper spray and clear a path

Neither sounds to good for anyone involved. Speaking from experience(as far as pepper spray) the pepper spray will quit hurting way before your head, arms, body does from the nightstick.

Thats ridiculous. You consider the police to be "trapped" by peaceful protesters? What stands in the way of them walking through the crowd? And it warrants physical violence?

Porcine looking fellow. Perhaps stepping over folks sitting on the ground was a physical stretch for the lummox.

Don't ask me not to listen to my lying eyes, pj.
The student's words are not the reality as seen on the footage.
Don't ask me to then have to choose the "devil's choice"
when I see exactly what I see.

(3. The cop could have walked past the seated people
without fumigating them with pepper spray.)

Happy Thanksgiving!

The cops stepped over the sitting protesters just before they sprayed them.....So they were NOT trapped by them.
