If the local Sheriff is outgunned, I tend to believe it. But I am 2000 miles away, so between the gubmint, and a local, I'll put my $$ on the local.

There's little question that LEO is unable to stop the people coming across the border. The issues are:

Is it a new phenomenon?
Have they been able to stop flow in the past?
So how can it be Obama's fault?
Stopping the flow of people across the border without human right violations is impossible; so do we spend our money and moral currency on chasing that rabbit, or would we be smarter to disrupt the entire supply/demand dynamic that causes people to so come here illegally to work?

If I were attempting to blame illegal immigration on Obama, I'd drop this thread, too. Wise move.

I am repulsed by the drumbeat of negativity that has dogged Obama. It is insane how many experts in a wide variety of disciplines have said that this administration has made the correct moves in a difficult climate brought to us by YOU KNOW WHO. The snotty negativity is feeding the voter-brats who demand instant gratification.

So how can you back Dever who says Obama is ignoring immigration enforcement when in fact numbers are up, way up. 70% up from where Bush and his cronies were...
Easy if you watch FoxNews as the liars there don't use numbers. They just fabricate storys that viewers "trust" as Facts.

It took almost 200 years -- from 1776 until 1990 -- for the federal government to accumulate a total of $3 trillion in debt, according to the Treasury Department. But it took far less time -- from Jan. 20, 2009, the day President Barack Obama was inaugurated, until Oct. 15, 2010 for the Obama administration to add $3 trillion to the federal debt.

Yeah, the numbers really spiked once Obama brought the budget to light from the shell games the shrub was playing with things. It's a darn shame he hasn't been able stop the hemorrhaging the shrub policies are still causing sooner.

No, like, seriously, duuuude.

If you graph the national debt from 1776 on, it's like the lightning bolt in AC/DC's logo... sharp upticks every time a GODDAMMED SOCIALIST was in office, followed by sharp decreases every time someone with a white hood and robe were in office.

Graph it and see for yourself.

What? The goddamn socialists have actually brought the debt down during their times in office, and the hoodies spike it up.

We have to counter stupid savage ignorance with accurate facts. Who knows that Obama's second year in office has already shown a drop in the annual deficit AND the great majority of income tax payers saw their taxes drop last year? How many morons are crowing about the trillions that Obama "spent" when he actually just put the war bills on the balance sheet as a courageous effort to let us see what the hell Bush actually did to us in secret? Fucking idiots. We were doing just fine with our balance sheets back in the days of 91% top marinal tax rates. Perhaps the rich could show some patriotic cajones and tolerate an increase from 36 to 39% seing as they have MADE MONEY during this recession?
Ahh but I am a dreamer.
Colin
(the blithering in this election season is dispiriting in the extreme.
And Obama has not forcefully defended his policies which is even more dispiriting to me)

did you catch the 5 percent real estate tax in the health bill?
or is that just urban legend, or a bipartisan smear, or is it we're just not understanding the 'vibe' of our pretender in chief
